My art is a reflection of the things I see in the environment and how I perceive them through my imagination. The beauty of a simple flower, the elegance of a rolling landscape and the serene presence of trees are examples of the subjects that move me.
In my work, I try to keep a less is more perspective by avoiding unnecessary details. To simplify - means to highlight the shapes and the space between them. Using a minimalist approach allows my art, and ultimately the viewer, to breath.
My preferred mediums are glass and acrylic paints, often co-existing in the same artwork. My most recent paintings are influenced by trips taken to southern France and Italy. I use a vibrant palette of colours to reflect the warmth and intensity of the sun in those geographic regions.
My glass work is unique. Unlike the traditional stained glass I use a layering technique and adhesive to set the pieces together. The result is a more delicate look without the heavy leaded lines. The colours are bright and vivid like my painting palette with an added reflective quality that I find irresistible.
I believe art should inspire people in a positive way. Through my love of nature, simple compositions and use of vibrant colours I hope to instill a sense of peace and inspiration to others.
I hope you like my work and I welcome your comments. I am available for commissions, exhibitions and my art is available for purchase. Thank you for your support!
